Welcome to Taifu Okinawan Karate School. Taifu Karate has been running as a family karate school since 1993. Trainiing and grading many students to black belt level. The styles of karate studied are Goju Ryu and Uechi Ryu plus
KARATE STYLES
Goju Ryu Karate is one of the orginal styles of Okinawa Karate. It incorporates Hard (Go) techniques - powerful blocks and punches and Soft (Ju) techniques - more circular deflections and strikes. Goju Ryu is a close quarter fighting system.
Uechi Ryu Karate is another of the orginal styles of Okinawa Karate. Also utilizes hard and soft techniques. Emphasises the use of single knuckle punches (Keiko Ken) and using the tip of the big big to kick ( Kosoku geri). Uechi Ryu is also a close quarter fighting system.
Okinawa Kobudo weaponry training incorporating a variety of weaopns. For beginner students Bo (six foot staff) is the entry weapon.
