Taifu Ryukyu Kobudo Belt System

 

There are ten kyu levels in the Taifu Kobudo system before reaching the first black belt level.  1st Dan is the first Black Belt level.  Weapons required to be studied to reach this level, in grading order, are: Bo (six foot staff), Sai (double trident/short sword), Tuifa (double side handle baton), Tanto (Knife, single and double), Tanbo (single and double short sticks) and Nunchaku (rice flails).
